The process of diagnosing children with PAH is very similar to that used for adults.
It is important to diagnose and treat children with PAH early because it is a progressive disease which can deteriorate very quickly when children are not treated. It is therefore essential that children with suspected PAH are quickly referred to a specialist medical centre which has experienced staff and the right equipment for diagnosing and treating patients with PAH.
