Joël Ménard
Joël is Professor of Public Health in Paris, France and a hypertension specialist. He has contributed to the elucidation of the fundamental role of the renin-angiotensin system, which assisted in the discovery and development of breakthrough drugs such as ACE inhibitors and angiotensin-2 blockers. He is the former Head of Clinical Development at Ciba-Geigy, Basel, Switzerland, and the former Chief Medical Officer of Ciba-Geigy France.
Craig Pratt
Craig is a Professor of Medicine and Cardiology at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, USA. He has been the principal investigator of a number of large, international drug development programs that have established the role of several currently available drugs used in the treatment of heart failure and arrhythmias. He was Chairman of the FDA's Cardio-Renal Advisory Committee, and continues to serve as a consultant to the FDA.
Richard Tsien
Richard is a Professor of Molecular and Cellular Physiology at Stanford University, Palo Alto, USA, and a member of the U.S. National Academy of Science and is a leading expert in the field of ion channels. He has elucidated important molecular mechanisms for key biophysical properties of calcium channels and discovered several new ion channels which have become pharmacological targets.
Hugo Kubinyi
Hugo Kubinyi, Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry of the University of Heidelberg, is a medicinal chemist with 35 years of industrial experience. From 1987 until his retirement in 2001, he headed the Molecular Modelling, X-ray Crystallography and Drug Design group at BASF. He is former Chair of the QSAR and Cheminformatics Society, IUPAC fellow, member of several scientific advisory boards and member of the editorial boards of a number of scientific journals. In 2008 he received the prestigious Nauta Award in Pharmacochemistry.
Graeme Stewart
Graeme is Professor of Medicine and Director of both the Institute for Immunology and Allergy Research and the Department of Clinical Immunology and Allergy at Westmead Hospital in Sydney. His responsibilities as a physician include the care of patients with primary immune deficiency disorders, autoimmune and auto-inflammatory disease. His research is focused on the role of the immune function in human disease, in particular the control of T-cell function in autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis and has resulted in the publication of over 130 papers in peer-reviewed journals. He also serves on the board of several research organizations.
George Talbot
George is the principal of Talbot Advisors LLC, which provides consultative services in anti-infective pharmaceutical drug development. George began his career in the Infectious Diseases Section of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA. As Associate Professor of Medicine, his responsibilities included hospital-based clinical research, practice, and teaching, as well as hospital epidemiology for the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, including the Hematology-Oncology and Surgical Intensive Care Units. George subsequently joined Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, assuming positions of increasing responsibility as the company evolved into Aventis Pharmaceuticals. More recently, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Cerexa, Inc., with responsibility for the clinical development of ceftaroline. George is a Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and a founding member of IDSA’s Antimicrobial Availability Task Force. He chairs the scientific advisory board of Calixa Therapeutics, Inc. and sits on the Supervisory Board of Nabriva Therapeutics.
